Property investor activity hit record levels in March, according to the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Investors signed up for $11.7 billion of home loans in March, which was 2.9% higher than the month before and 48.4% higher than the year before.
As the graph shows, investor borrowing has now increased in 16 of the past 17 months.
Owner-occupier activity, by contrast, has been subdued, rising 0.9% over the month but falling 2.2% over the year. That said, it’s still at historically high levels. #property #realestate #homeloans
